Denville Rotary continues to gather for an evening meeting of fellowship on the last Thursday of each month. This past Thursday at Mancino's Restaurant, we were joined by Kristen McCauley of Stickley Museum as she provided us with an indepth history of the property and it's original owner Gustav Stickley, who purchased the 650 acres in 1910. Stickley is best know for being a leading designer of the Arts and Crafts movement but he was also a publisher, architect, retailer and restaurant owner. This National Historic Landmark is presently owned by the Township of Parsippany and consists of 30 acres. The grounds are open to the public but the nine buildings are not currently open mostly due to extensive damage caused by a fallen tree (which is being repaired) and Covid restrictions. To learn more about this local gem and its current virtual offerings, please visit www.StickleyMuseum.org.
