The mission of the Seeing Eye is to enhance the independence, dignity and self-confidence of people who are blind, through the use of specialty trained guide dogs. Don MacGowan joined us for a very interesting and enlightening presentation on how this mission is accomplished. The Seeing Eye breeds and raises their own dogs to ensure they are well bred, appropriately socialized and expertly trained. Thirteen times a year students come to the Morristown campus from across the United States and Canada for a three week instructional program. Based on multiple criteria, individuals are perfectly matched with their remarkable guide dog and instructed in the proper handling and care of their new friend.
