Last night, Wednesday, August 4th, the Denville Police Department sponsored "National Night Out" which is an annual community building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaradeire. Denville Rotary is proud of our relationship with the Denville Police Department and have helped to acquire many tools necessary for the Officers to carry out their responsibilites when they respond to calls from the community. Last night we celebrated the gift of a special service bicycle. This is an oversized bicycle to be used by Officer Adam Temporale when he is on patrol. Officer Temporale is 6'7" tall and requires this special oversized service bicycle to accommodate his height. Some of the other tools Denville Rotary has donated to the DTPD include spike strips to stop fleeing vehicles, ice rescue suits, helmets for the officers, helmet shields and more.
