Lisa Barsky Firkser, PhD, Executive Director of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), delivered a very informative program at our October 21st luncheon meeting. CASA is located on Cattano Avenue in Morristown and is the only court authorized advocacy program for children and youth in foster care in Morris and Sussex Counties. Their mission is to be a strong voice for the best interests of vulnerable children who have been removed from their homes or are under court supervision due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. CASA recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers to be advocates, mentors and champions for every child.
